Woodlore Standard
Woodlore is a man-made product. It is manufactured from a combination of timber fibres and glue, and is dimensionally very stable. It is used worldwide in the manufacture of furniture and lends itself very well to the manufacture of shutters. It is extruded in conjunction with a polypropylene coating to give a smooth, even finish. The polypropylene coating is an exclusive medical-grade, safe polypropylene coating with a UV inhibitor. With use in children’s toys and food packaging, the material is proven for its stability and safety.
Woodlore Plus
Woodlore Plus is a manufactured product developed for general use in the home and is made from a combination of materials. Woodlore is used in the rails, stiles and framing with an exclusive polypropylene coating, and a synthetic material called ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) for the louvres. The louvres have a cellular structure which creates pockets of air, providing a very high level of thermal resistance. This will prevent heat loss in winter and keep the room cooler in summer.
Waterproof Woodlore Plus is a manufactured product developed for, but not restricted to, moisture area applications. It is made using a synthetic material called ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene). It is useful for moisture area applications such as bathrooms, kitchens, laundries, etc., as moisture coming in contact with this material does not cause damage. Please be aware that although this product is waterproof, it is not suitable for exterior applications. The louvres have a cellular structure which creates pockets of air, providing a very high level of thermal resistance. This will prevent heat loss in winter and keep the room cooler in summer. The energy savings and resulting reduced heating/cooling costs can also be very beneficial. Waterproof Woodlore Plus shutters are only available with Stainless Steel hardware.
